I found this cover in Deutschtown on the North Side of Pittsburgh. With only a metal outer ring it alowed me to try something different with the center. This one is from around year1892 and also has no “h”.

This manhole is from 1860 and is located on the Boulevard of the Allies in downtown Pittsburgh, PA. It lives in front of a historic building with a very colorful reputation and reads “The Grand Old Salon 1860” at the very top.

This particular one is located on North Avenue and Federal Street on the north side of Pittsburgh, Pa. This is the oldist manholes that I have found and what makes it unique is that it is dated. Founded in Chicago, IL. between 1845-1855.
